One of the tricky things about freelancing is the endless other hats that you have to put on alongside your 'graphic designer' hat. For example, this week I have been an accountant, a marketing manager, a project manager, a pr executive and sales rep!
My pet hate is self promotion. The idea of freelancing appeals to me largely because I am a grade A introvert and I can squirrel myself away merrily designing beautiful things from the peace and quiet of my home studio with just one small dog for company. So getting out there and banging my drum and tooting my own horn to promote myself and attract new clients is not a natural fit for me, and probably one of the reasons why this blog is so sporadic.
However, it is a new year, a new decade even, and it is time for me to get over my fear of sounding like a big head and get out there and shout about what I can do for you.
Yes you, lovely reader could be my next client, or you might know someone who is looking for a designer, so I am here to tell you a little bit about what I have been up to recently and to encourage you to have a poke around on my website and see if you like what you see, and if you do, then please spread the word. I rely largely on word of mouth and recommendations from other clients, so any volunteers to be my pr rep gratefully received!
I do try to keep my instagram and website up to date with my latest projects but it is tricky sometimes as some of the things I have been working on lately are still embargoed until the brand launch, or for example, I designed a site map for an industrial estate but the building works are not finished yet so the map is still awaiting it's trip to the printers.
I have also been working on some social media banners and mail chimp newsletters. And also I was asked just before Christmas to become Editor of our village magazine. Which is a lovely job that really deserves a post of it's own... watch this space.
I have a few pet projects on the go in the background too, so keep an eye out for more posts and more pictures and more goodies coming from Anne Wright Design in 2020.
If you'd like to contact me for a chat about your project, please comment below or email me at email@example.com I look forward to hearing from you.
